End of the Sky for Eighthnerve

After four years together Eighthnerve will be no more.

Horsham metal outfit 'Eighthnerve' have decided to call it a day after four years of relentless and passionate touring. Having played over 200 shows, to thousands of people, Eighthnerve have been a long standing example of how to go about making music your own way, creating one of the best live shows venues in the South of England could expect.

Fans were left shocked when a statement was released by the band on their Myspace explaining the situation and saying farewell to all those who had supported them:

"
We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us in any way, anyone who’s taken photos, filmed us or bought a CD and most importantly every one of you who got down to a show and sang the songs with us."

The decision to split came completely out of the blue, and is a massive setback to the local music scene of Horsham, Eighthnerve being one of the foundations of the impressive evolution of live music from the second best place to live in the UK.

On the HDLMA's forum fans left their condolences and support to the members of the band upon hearing the news. 'Ruderthanrude', a friend of the band left this message:

"You guys raised the bar and transended(sic) the "local" band tag played some amazing shows and put down some great recordings."

The band's loyal following have wished them well.

For a while now Horsham has been outputting some really good musical talent - bands like Jalopy, Zevicon and Dogs in Space have been playing all over the South of England and beyond, which is encouraging to see for such a small town. Eighthnerve were another example of the passion for music that seems to have been nurtured with the support of Horsham's HDLMA, and although it is the end for one band, it is certainly not the end for the talents and opportunities that Horsham is giving young (and older!) musicians alike.

The band will play two final farewell gigs, which they promise will see them off justly. They headline Billirox tonight in Billingshurst and will play their final gig at Guildford Boilerooms alongside Zero Cipher and Without Thought. It's sure to be an emotional conclusion to the four year ride, but the guys have promised that they will continue to play music together:

"We are best friends and we will continue to play music together for fun, in one form or another because we couldn’t live without it in our lives."
