British boys Muse, who skyrocketed to fame all over the world last year off the back of their latest album ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ have decided that 2008 will be a year of rest, after an absolutely jam-packed touring schedule last year.

However, they did announce a one off gig in support of Teenage Cancer Trust, a series of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall performed to raise money for children suffering from cancer, leukemia and similar diseases. They will play the night of Saturday 12th April, to an already sold out crowd.

From ThePRP

French environment fans Gojira are looking to begin recording of their new album in either April or June, hoping to release it to the public in the autumn.

The four piece’s last album ‘From Mars to Sirius’ was an absolutely crushing record, and with any luck the group can only hope to improve, especially now that they have a lot more people expectantly awaiting this next release. Hopefully they won’t disappoint.

Thursday 21st Feb – Study proves it: music makes you healthy

According to a ‘scientific’ study carried out on stroke victims, science journal ‘Brain’ has suggested that listening to music daily can improve sufferers recovery of their memory.

Furthermore, another study carried out by some bright boffins in Taiwan shows that listening to some light jazz can help your sleep patterns.

Personally, I’ve always found it quite relaxing to settle down with some Godspeed You! Black Emperor to help bring on the Z’s, but whatever floats your ears!

Friday 22nd Feb – Rage Against the Machine breathe Oxegen

The re-born Rage have now been confirmed for Ireland’s Oxegen festival, adding weight to rumors of an appearance at Reading festival.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet as to what night the band will headline, but the weekend takes place over the 11th – 13th July.

Other bands of note playing the festival include Kings of Leon and R.E.M, and also a performance from Aphex Twin which makes the festival a very tempting proposition.
